About Franklin County

About Brassfield

With almost 500 square miles of rolling countryside, historic Franklin County offers beautiful landscapes with sprawling farms and timberlands, mixed with a hometown feel. Several towns are located within the county limits, the larger of which are Franklinton, Louisburg and Youngsville. Though the scenery is tranquil and picturesque, Franklin County is quite progressive. More than 200 businesses are located here including several large industries that fuel the local economy such as telecommunications, software development and biotechnology companies, as well as the historically strong farming and timberland industries.

Growing quickly yet still maintaining its rural and historic roots, Franklin County is located in the midst of a network of interstates that lead residents quickly to the larger metro areas of Raleigh, Durham and Research Triangle Park. RDU International Airport is just 25 minutes away, and Franklin County's own airport, Franklin County Regional, gives corporate clients easy access to private jet and helicopter capabilities. But in addition to the contemporary corporate environment nestled within this georgic setting, Franklin County offers a wealth of recreational activities. Skydiving and other sky sports are here, along with golf, river adventures, cycling, agritourism, numerous parks with nature trails, and an abundance of equestrian facilities. Shopping, restaurants, antiques, historic homes and tours, local artists' galleries–these are all here in Franklin County too. Undoubtedly, this is a scenic area with a small-town-America flavor that is also culturally rich and economically progressive.
