About Brassfield

Henderson serves as the county seat of Vance County, which is a mostly rural area with a population of just over 43,000 residents. Much of Kerr Lake, the state's largest man-made lake, is located here and is undoubtedly the area's largest draw for residents as well as tourists. State parks with nature trails and picnic facilities, boating facilities and water sports are all part of the local culture. There are also county-wide celebrations and festivals plus outdoor sports such as golf, tennis and swimming. Operating at a slightly slower speed than its metropolitan neighbors Raleigh and Durham, this area offers a quiet landscape ensconced in nature with an abundance of outdoor offerings.

Encompassing 269 square miles, Vance County borders the Virginia state line and is situated about thirty miles north of Raleigh and 35 miles from Durham. The variety of culture, dining and entertainment of the larger cities is just a quick drive away, while the atmosphere of the immediate area is more quiet and serene. Getting places is easy with RDU International and its 150 daily flights just 45 minutes away and nearby Henderson-Oxford Airport offering charter service, hangars and maintenance for private and corporate aircraft. Additionally, Interstate 85 runs right through Vance County and intersects other highways along the way, allowing for an easy commute in all directions, including a drive to Richmond, Virginia, that's under 2 hours.
