Who is Brassfield?

Mark Thompson

A North Carolina native from the Raleigh/Durham area, Mark began Brassfield in 1997 to pursue an interest in real estate. Mark has seen a desire to provide personal and exceptional customer service coupled with the growth of our region allow Brassfield to become a successful and respected real estate company with clients throughout the area.Mark graduated from Duke University with a degree in Economics. He is actively involved in the revitalization efforts of rural downtowns as well as in the local community and church. Mark lives in Franklin County with his wife and 3 children.

Kenneth W. Goetze

Kenneth W. Goetze (Kenny) has been with Brassfield since its inception in 1997. Kenny’s background includes three years of commercial banking and nine years of experience owning and operating manufacturing companies serving hi-tech industries of the Research Triangle Park area and eastern United States. In the early 1990’s Kenny moved his focus and efforts to real estate investing and development opportunities. He has developed or re-developed residential and commercial properties from Asheville, NC to Manteo, NC ranging in size from 20 units to over 600 units. His portfolio includes single-tenant commercial buildings, raw land, multi-family and single family properties.Kenny has a passion for Christian ministry and service and is a leader in his church. Kenny has served on boards at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC for over 14 years and has participated in ministry opportunities through numerous organizations including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Campus Crusade for Christ, Samaritan’s Purse and World Vision. Kenny’s service includes a local bank board and chamber of commerce. He has influenced and impacted the lives of many boys and girls and their families through his dedication to athletics and his leadership role in numerous athletic organizations.Kenny is a life-long resident of Wake County and currently resides in Zebulon, NC with his wife, Debra, and 4 children. Kenny is a graduate of Woodberry Forest School in Woodberry, Forest, VA and holds a Bachelor of science degree in Accounting from Guilford College.

Mark McArn

Mark McArn joined Brassfield in 1999. Prior to coming to Brassfield Mark held various managerial positions with Food Lion, Inc. over a 20 year span in Charlotte, Wilmington and Raleigh. Mark works in many different North Carolina markets but focuses in the sub-markets of north Raleigh and the Research Triangle. He has assisted hundreds of clients with land, office, flex, warehouse and retail transactions. Mark received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Mark is a member of the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors, the North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. He has a strong record of community and church involvement. Mark serves on the Franklin County Economic Development Committee and the Franklin County Planning Board. He serves on the Franklin County United Way board and is currently the corporate fundraiser. He has served as President of the Franklinton Lions Club and the Franklinton Recreational Park Committee.

Donald Matthews

Donald Matthews joined Brassfield Commercial in 2005. Before joining Brassfield Donald was involved with commercial real estate management, assessment, acquisition and sales with Americal Corporation. His “hands on” experience with manufacturing and production facilities along with his ability to manage projects and people make him an asset to clients seeking to relocate or choose a first time location for their business. Donald works with properties that range from “class A” office space to tracts of land to warehouse leasing to finding a 1031 replacement property to meet a client’s needs.Donald actively serves his community and church. He has been on the Vance County United Way Board for the past 6 years serving as the campaign chairman for the last 2 years as well as past board president. Donald has served on the Vance County American Cancer Society Board for the past 9 years with active involvement in Relay For Life including serving as past Relay Chairman. For the past 2 years Donald has served on the Homelessness Committee in Vance County. Donald is involved in his church serving on the church board and pastor’s council.

Pier Williamson

Pier Williamson joined Brassfield Commercial in 2006 and began his real estate career in 2002, working in residential and investment real estate, leasing and property management, and land brokerage with Pier Williamson joined Brassfield Commercial in 2006 and began his real estate career in 2002, working in residential and investment real estate, leasing and property management, and land brokerage with The Preiss Company in Raleigh. As a current resident of Raleigh and having grown up in Louisburg, he knows the Greater Triangle Area markets like a native should. Pier specializes in buyer, seller, tenant, and landlord representation in all aspects of commercial real estate and with both commercial and residential land brokerage.

He is an active member of the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors, the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and the Realtors Land Institute. In addition to being a licensed broker in North Carolina since 2002, Pier is also licensed in the state of South Carolina. Over his years of experience in the real estate industry, Pier has earned the designations of Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR) through the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council and Graduate Realtor’s Institute (GRI) through the National Association of Realtors. He is also a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.

Pier graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in sociology from Appalachian State University. In addition, he received his Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law and is a licensed attorney with Jolly, Williamson, and Williamson in Louisburg. He is also proud to be a member of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, the Franklin County Committee of 100, the Youngsville Area Business Association, a board member and volunteer KidsPeace Foster Care & Family Services of the Triangle, and a volunteer with the North Central NC Boys & Girls Club.

Julia Thompson

Julia is a Franklin County native who now resides in Wake Forest.  Julia’s background has given her an appreciation of land. She grew up enjoying her family’s farm and timberland.  With a strong focus on residential Julia uses experience from the various aspects of real estate she's been involved with since 2014. Julia is a member of the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors, the North Carolina Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.
